"What you make of your life is up to you..", and that's exactly what Peter did as he left his hometown of Dublin, Ireland, and ventured to Canada to record his debut album 'Face in the Crowd'. Peter possesses a remarkable gift for melody and an elevated level of clear-headedness, dominant on 'Face in the Crowd'. The strength of his voice is striking and effortless.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland (07/13/87), Peter James Fox received his first guitar as a present from his mam on his tenth birthday. A self- taught musician, he spent countless hours mastering the guitar and strengthening his vocals. As he progressed, he also acquired the ability to play piano and bass guitar. He discovered his talent for song writing at the age of 12, and by this time Peter had decided that a career in music was inevitable.
In February 2002 with the help of Adam (Peters Step-dad) and Peters Mam Sandie, he made a demo CD. It was a recording of two songs, and this was his first studio experience. From then, Peter began researching the music business and continued to write and practice everyday. In the summer of 2003, with the support of his parents Adam and Sandie, they left Ireland for the City of Belleville Ontario. This is where Peter would spend the next four months recording and producing 'Face in the Crowd' with Flip Medias Sean Fritz, who they met a year before on holiday.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Since the release on 'Face in the Crowd' in January 2004, Peter has made appearences on TV stations CKWS, Cogeco, and City TV News. He has had radio play and been interviewed on CJLX 92.3FM, CJBQ AM, Mix97.1 FM, CBC Radio Toronto and Dublins Newstalk 106FM. Peter's also had write ups in such newspapers as The Community Press, The Intelligencer, The Sunday Tribune, The Tallaght Echo and such online papers as Scene and Heard, The Live Music Report and the Canadian Press. His cd is now available in Sam the Record Man, Belleville, where he also played an in-store promotional acoustic gig. Most recently, Peter won 1st place in the Belleville Idol, also the first ever to win the competition!
