Boomin City Entertainment was founded in 1999 by a group of four young men who were dealing with the trials and tribulations of the ghetto street life. Boomin city has been blazing the radio stations and engulfing their crowds with hit after hit song every since their formation. Their first hit song "Hold What U Got," captivated audiences everywhere ranging from ages 3 and up. They gained instant stardom locally throughout their community. They have hosted many shows and performed in a variety of places. The group now consists of Jimmy Mitchell (Steele), Ira "RD" Manuel (Chief), and Justin "Scooter" Curtis (SLS) all combining to make the blockbuster group "Black Collar" .
The group tends to base their music on reality unlike some other artist's who are fraudulent with their lyrics. They have an uptempo style with such charisma and enery that makes you feel every word with an impact. "Raw Talent." Boomin City goals are to put Meridian, MS on the map, help the local community by sponsoring special events, win some grammy's, run a successful and prosperous business that will eventually progress into a corporation, and bring home the platinum plaques. The group was formed one day when all of the local kids were in the basement or as they called it the dungeon freestyling. There was about 10 people who came regularly but only 3 made the cut. They used to set up shop anywhere and just start rapping, just for the hell of it. Life hasn't been easy for them either. Some members were incarcerated, family problems like the loss of relatives, and not to mention the fact their studio was robbed. Since then the group has experienced many setbacks but they were so persistent and passionate about their music that they overcame all obstacles.Have you performed in front of an audience?We have performed with and opened up for Lil Flip, David Banner, Magic, Bobby Womack, T.I., Carl Marshall, Pastor Troy and all sorts of people. We peform any and everywhere as long as the money is right.
