My Band?
I live in Southern Louisiana in bayou country. I guess you could call my band "bayou self" as I have no band.......STOP....Let me update!! I now have a band and we are playing festivals and events locally. I have indeed been blessed to meet such wonderful people. We are a five piece with myself on guitar and vocals. Kevin Benoit on guitar and vocals. His wife Donna Benoit on vocals. Kevin Bergeron on bass and Larry Franks on Drums. We've been gigging since August 07 and are available for Christain Music events in and around the New Orleans area. I also have a brand new CD just released entitled Are You Listening? All of the cuts are produced by Pershing Wells, a talented local musician/writer/engineer/recordist, etc., who practices his craft here in Houma. It is available at www.mikecape.com or http://cdbaby.com/cd/michaelcape
Band/artist history
Raised in Wisconsin aye...Played rock n roll hoser...Alice Cooper, Zepplin, Clapton, Allman Brothers, etc. Life is good!! Guess what! I next found myself in a lounge band in Chicago backing a singer who was being promoted. Some original songs but we filled the night with whatever people would ask for. I mean whatever...even Barry Manilow. (Hey, Give Barry his due. He wrote a lot of songs). Next was Texas...Heee Haaa. The Cotton Eyed Joe, twin fiddles, the Texas Two Step, you push me around the dance floor for a while and then I'll push you. Believe me it ain't that simple. I really like that southern twang and grew to love and appreciate the what I call down to earth sounds of guitars, fiddles, mandolins, and the bass fiddle. Also the sounds coming out of Austin. It was in Humble, Texas at Lamb of God Lutheran church, that I began to get involved once more. My mother brought me to church every Sunday when I was young and saw to it that I learned my lessons while I was enrolled in a parochial day school through the eigth grade. Now in Texas all of those lessons that I had learned began to take on a new and real meaning. I got involved with the "Band of Glory" praise band at Lamb of God and I began to know that I really wanted to use my music to say something I value. I cannot think of a better message than that of God's Grace. Now I am in Houma Louisiana and am carrying on with the wonderful people down here. Many of the things I had scribbled down ten years ago are finding their way out in the form of songs that have been recorded onto a CD. The complete CD "Are You listening?" is out. Check my webpage, www.mikecape.com, or http://cdbaby.com/cd/michaelcape for the latest.
One last thing to LOG in Humble. I miss you all and I truly was blessed for having the experience of worshiping and working with you ...Jam for the Lamb!!!! God's peace.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes I do. I am pleased to be a part of the worship every Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Houma and the members of my band play in their praise team every Sunday at first Baptist Church in Houma. MCB is a side project and plays in and around Houma at special events and festivals and Music with a Message in Houma. To book us email mike@mikecape.com
Your musical influences
To many to list but I would say: The Moody Blues, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Journey, Bebo Norman, Mercy Me.
What equipment do you use?
Taylor and Yari guitars. G&L ASAT electric. Roland Guitar synth. Yamaha XP-50 keyboard. Carvin & Peavy amps, Camco drums as well as Hart elect drums with a Roland TD-6 module. An old Gibson Ranger amp that sounds awesome for blues and old R&R. Cakewalk software.
Anything else?
I've recorded these songs because I believe in the message. If these songs serve to touch someones heart, I rejoice.

Well done ....I like where you took this tune .
Amen Brother....cool tune
I just want to thank you for recording this. It blesses me every time. :) I've used it as I've worked with these abused children...it was a beautiful thing and gave sweet peace at a crucial time.
For The Glory!
