Band/artist history
i started out playing bass in high school, completely self-taught (as with everything i've done musically or artistically). moved on to guitar in college and started writing my own songs. started getting into industrial music but couldn't afford all the synthesizers and stuff they were using back then (this is late 80's). then i heard Godflesh - completely blew me away - guitar, bass, drum machine, microphone. that's it. so i bought an Alesis drum mach used for cheap and started programming beats - recorded an EP on a four-track of very angry and aggressive stuff [under the name ]. eventually moved on to software and synths. started creating ambient dub type stuff under the name . i've stopped making music to suit a particular genre and just make whatever comes to me. even though has a techno feel to it, it tends to cross genres. it will be more apparent when i finish the last two tracks. more recently i've been re-incorporating guitar into my sketches, and the songs are becoming even less genre-specific. eventually they will be posted. i'm not sure yet whether to put them here or name a new project. stay tuned...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
i played live once at a house party in the San Diego area. i was in the living room with just my Emu MP-7 (on which 'Gleam' was composed), running thru the stereo. most of the peeps hanging out there were stoned or even tripping, and they loved it. it felt really good. i hope to do so again someday...
