Band/artist history
His name is Ken Williams, but in the world of Hip Hop, he’s better known as Furious Stylz. Coming from Detroit, MI, Furious speaks on more reality-based issues drawing upon his own opinions and experiences. Rather than focusing on the materialistic lifestyle that most rappers use as their subject matter, Furious talks about things that are more commonplace. Furious began rapping in his senior year in high school. He started out rapping as a hobby, but later developed his talent and began taking it more seriously when he went to college. He has performed at various talent shows at Michigan State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications. Furious got his introduction to the music industry interning at Polygram Group Distribution, where he has met the likes of Montell Jordan, Incognito, and Wayman Tisdale. He also got an opportunity to attend the Soul Train Music Awards and witness true star power both on stage and behind the scenes. Some of the people Furious has worked with are Randy Scott, who won the talent search on Showtime At The Apollo, Abdul Fakir of the group Motown Syndicate, whose father is a member of the famous group, The Four Tops, Maestro Dynasty, an up and coming group in Detroit, and Kareem Riggins, who has worked with the likes of Common, Erykah Badu, Slum Village, and Bahamadia. Currently he is working with Eddie “E-Note” Weathington, an up and coming producer out of the Mid-Michigan area. In addition to making music, Furious also is part owner of a website design company called E.D.E.N Internet Solutions. Some of Furious Stylz’s influences are LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest, Notorious B.I.G, Busta Rhymes, Public Enemy, and Lauryn Hill. Not only does Furious make music to entertain, he also makes music that is informative and relative to current world issues. No matter what the subject is, you can be sure that “The Fury” will no doubt have his say about it.
