Band/artist history
I've always loved music, from as far back as I can remember. I started playing music around the 6th grade, I was a huge metal head, forming different bands with the same three guys. My original instrument was the bass guitar, but also love guitar and keyboards. Back then, the police would stop by daily, for the "noise complaints", and eventually we got better and the "noise complaints" stopped. We played together all through high school, and got very good. I was in a punk band through some of that time period, also. I had a lot of fun, and to this day I still miss it. But as many bands, there comes that dreaded day that you realize that it's all over, and we inevitably went are seperate ways, that was back around 1992. I never really stopped writing music, but had gotten into different styles like jazz fusion, blues, classical, world, and started incorperating them into my music. To me, my style is multi-genre, it's interesting to hear very different things work together. I tell people that it's "electronic music" because I tend to use a lot of weird electronic sounds, and everything is done on my computer using loops and samples.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No. One person standing on stage with a computer, pushing a play button at the beginning of each song, wouldn't be very interesting to watch.
Your musical influences
Crystal Method, Lunatic Calm, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Death In Vegas, Nine Inch Nails, Filter, Peter Gabriel, Rush, Frank Zappa, Jaco Pastorius,Weather Report, David Bowie, Queen, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Clutch, Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, Ministry, Frank Black, The Pixies, Radiohead, Soundgarden, The Beatles,The Doors, Beck, Cypress Hill, Rage Against The Machine, Tool, Sublime, Cake, Audioslave, Mushroomhead, Atari Teenage Riot, I could go on all day.
What equipment do you use?
My Computer, Using Acid Music 3.0 (I bought it at Best Buy for only $20), Loops and samples, downloaded from the internet, from various sites like Audiogalaxy, Loopasonic, etc.
Anything else?
My first CD, Recycled Vol. 1, was an experiment, so some of the songs are a little repetitive, and drawn out, but you have to start somewhere, right. My Second CD, Recycled Vol. 2, isn't availible at this time, there is only one copy of it and I'm still trying to get my hands on it. Soon , I promise. My third CD, Recycled Vol.3, is better on repetitiveness and not so drawn out. I really started to figure out what I was doing. And my fourth CD, Recycled Vol. 4, was less repetitive and more structured, I like it. The most recent, Great Beginnings For Bad Endings, Is my best work, yet. Super funky with super grooves, I can't stop listening to it.
