Broken World, a Melbourne underground rap group of emcees, have contributed to the Aussie hip-hop music scene for several years now. This contribution can be seen with the various collaboration and performances that the Broken World clik have added to their resume. The Broken World clik a.k.a B Dub comprises of NME, Deadly D, Rapology, Jamal and Kryptic. Kryptic and Jamal being the newest members of the group, made their debut in late 2006. Broken World started off as the name of a record label its founder NME envisioned. Under the direction of NME, the Broken World clik has worked industriously, making the vision a step closer to becoming a reality. On todays music front, the group continues to define quality Australian hip-hop music. NME is the movements founder, and as well as emceeing, supplies most of the high quality beats used by the B Dub crew.
Band/artist history
The original composition of Broken World consisted of L.D. and NME. Rapology was introduced to the Broken World movement through Triple A, three years ago. L.D. would go on to leave the group, eventually followed by Triple A. With NME, the core of the broken World, Rapology & Triple A would pick up where L.D. left off. Nmes brother Deadly D would eventually join the group, along with its newest members Kryptic and Jamal. Rap Music has been such an important element of these artists lives; they devote most of their time and energy to it Rapology states, If it wasnt for the music, I could definitely say I would be doing wrong, in jail or perhaps even worse. NME started rapping and producing with a vision of owning his own label around six years ago. Deadly D has been rapping for around three years and Rapology, four years. Kryptic and Jamal have been rapping for about a year now, however, most artists starting writing lyrics & poetry many years before they recorded. Although 2006 was a busy year for The Broken World clik, they have big plans for 2007. 2006 saw Broken World work closely with the international movement, Hak Mob and its supporting label, O Faroch records. Broken World has collaborated with many artists both locally and abroad in 2006. Local acts to have collaborated with B Dub include, the Triple Threat Crew and FIC, International artists include east coast artists, such as J drama and Yas, west coast artists such as Legends Live Forever & U.K. artists such as Big Moe. Big Moe and Yas are both blood brothers of outlaw member Hussein Fatal. The Broken World clik is currently affiliated with the Hak Mob International movement. Hak Mob is a truly international movement, with artists throughout the world, including New Jersey, the U.K. and Australia. The B Dub crew have performed at various places throughout the last two years and include the Spy Bar and the Evelyn in Fitzroy. The next project Broken World hopes to see through shortly includes the release of the debut Broken World album, slated for a mid 2007 release. Deadly D and Rapology will both be releasing their solo mixtape albums, early in 2007.
