The Ashcats! For Your Pleasure!
John Baron and Bill Fetters II started The Ashcats in the mid to late 90's. The band went through various forms and approaches: 5pc rock w/ B2 on lead vocals to 3pc blues w/ B2 on drums and JB fronting. Cover tunes mainly w/ an original here and there. Finally, sometime in early yr 2000, John and Bill, with Tom Mueller on bass, decided to try concentrating on original music. Initially forming and rehearsing to do a show at a local venue that showcased new bands with original material, this final ashcat line-up was forced to turn their attention to the studio when the local venue ran into some zoning problems and closed down for an indefinite period. Starting in Fall 2000, the group spent about 3 months on 'You Can't Help Me', then 3 weeks on 'TV On The Fritz', then about 3 days total on 2 other tunes('You Don't Have To' and 'Wanna Be2' which were mostly solo efforts by John) before calling it quits. Although John and Bill remain close friends with each other they no longer collaborate and there are currently no plans to re-form The Ashcats.
Oh well it was fun while it lasted.
Not currently. When we did it was mostly open mic nites, parties, small bars, all around south-eastern Michigan. We had a lot of fun, made a little money then moved on to other things. Split up after recording these songs in a basement studio.
