Roy Jones, Jr. founded Body Head Entertainment, Inc. in September 1998. Body Head Entertainment, Inc. is an independent record label based in Roy's hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Roy derived the name "Body Head" by changing the boxing technique "head to body" to "Body Head." The technique "head to body" is used in the sport of boxing to wear down an opponent's resistance by throwing shots to the head and the body. Roy thought of the concept and decided to make it a reality through his record label, which is now "Body Head Entertainment, Inc."
During the inception of Body Head Entertainment's incorporation, there was an administrative staff of only one individual and only one artist. Currently, Body Head Entertainment's staff consists of an administrative staff of nine executives and various artists from different genres including Rap, R&B, Gospel, etc. Roy has ventured from boxing to music and he has collaborated with skilled executives to ensure that Body Head Entertainment is operated in an efficient, professional manner. He states, "My staff and I are hungry for Body Head Entertainment's success, therefore, I chose motivated individuals whom I can trust that Body Head Entertainment will have success and longevity in the music industry. I have also signed talented artist from various parts of the country and I am looking forward to seeing and hearing great things from all of them."
Body Head Entertainment is due to release several of its artists this year. The albums scheduled for release this year are Roy Jones, Jr., "Roy Jones, Jr. Presents", our newly signed artist Choppa formerly of No Limit Records "Da Real Choppa", Mr. Magic formerly of No Limit Records, Rated PG's "Gangsta Wayz", and L. Boogie "L-Stasy." Later in the year, Body Head Entertainment plans to release a compilation album featuring several of their artists.
