One way to describe the sound of The Recoil Special Surprise is Power Pop meets Alternative Country. Each song has a very catchy melody, but a lot of the songwriting is majorly influenced by alt. country. There is also a hint of garage rock thrown in there. The Recoil Special Surprise -Rev. Band/artist history
Stumbling through the aftermath of the destruction of Mrs. Mumbley, Rev. Brandon J. Archer found the inspiration to write and play a new music. The Rev. decided to set out on a journey to find musicians to begin a new conquest. As he walked along the lonely avenue, he came across his good friend Darren, also from the former Mrs. Mumbley. With guitar in hand, Darren started to play a music which fit perfectly with that of the Rev.'s. Darren joined the Rev. on his journey. As they made their way down the lonely avenue, the Rev. saw an old friend by the name of Brian Bendall, who played bass in a past life. Convinced by the two friends to take the bass back up, the three became The Recoil Special Surprise.
