Punk. :)Band/artist history
Buckwheat have originated from the murky depths of Teesside. Combining riffs o'doom from Ste, thumping basslines from Ben, rhythm to die to from Andrew and the clang-clang of the drums in the night from Phil. The collaboration above produces a sound known to many as 'pop-punk'
It was a cold, dark night. Andrew and Phil were sat in Andrews room, probably watching a film or trying to kick each others' ass at WWF. Eventually they got bored of whatever they were doing, and decided to play music.
As this became a frequent occurence, they decided to go out of their way to form the ultimate project... A band. After many, many moons of hunting, they finally found a bassist. A boyfriend of a friend.
Heavily influenced by Ska, and red dreadlocks, this new-found bassist became quickly known as 'Ben.' Buckwheat were complete. Apart from one asset.
After many months of unsuccessful hunting, a drummer was still yet to be found. A band is nothing without percussion. Failing to find a drummer, Phil was informed that Andrews dad had a drumkit in the attic. Phil decided to take on the role of a drummer, and in doing so, was condemned to a life of eternal darkness, and very expensive cymbals.
This still meant one asset was missing. Who now, would take the lead microphone and guitar slot? None other than Andrews other best friend. Ste.
Exploding from a background of acoustic bands, Buckwheat were more than happy to take on Ste's musical talent, and song-writing ability. The lineup was complete, thus forming BUCKWHEAT.Have you performed in front of an audience? We don't play live yet, because we're missing half the band ;)
