Other Alternative

The Black Sarahs are not your typical "band". This group does not have a "lead singer", "lead guitarist" or lead anything. There isn't one main songwriter or a songwriting duo that don't let the other members have a say in. All four of them get their equal chance to write a song, play what they will on a song or do absolutely nothing on a song. To add to the diversity, there are many different influences that make up the music they write. Some of the many influences are, Metallica, Pearl Jam, The Who, The Television, Alice in Chains, Dream Theater, Dave Matthews Band, The Beatles and many, many, many, many more. So you see the "band" may never stick to one style or genre of music. The members feel that different kinds of music fit different moods. Why not have one album of music that fits almost every mood? So feel free to look around and take a listen.
Band/artist history
This group has been together in some form since early 2001. But the history before it is endless. The Duke and Jow had been playing in bands together for years, Shaggy and Mark had been playing together for years, and Barry is relatively new to the "scene", however is an excellent songwriter. The Black Sarahs came together when Barry and Duke started writing songs together. They formed "The Spins", Then "The Collective", Then "The Glyph" Then finally "The Black Sarahs" So there.......
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We have, we will, we love it....we'll let ya know
Your musical influences
The Who, Metallica, Yes, Dream Theater, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Bach, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Television, numerous Jazz musicians, Soundgarden, Neil Young, Yanni, Sarah Mclachlan...diverse enough for ya?
Anything else?
We're not here to get rich, we're not here to change the world, we just want to write the music we feel. We want you to feel when you listen to us. We may not always sound good, we may change our style with every album....bottom line....like us or don't.
