We are The Dead Flowers
Thanks for stopping in. We are influenced by many bands such as The Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, and Phish. We hope you will enjoy these jams.
The Dead Flowers came to be in the Winter of 2004 as each musician realized that a gap needed to be filled in Dayton, Ohio. The music scene seems over-run with hard metal acts of every designation. And, though there are some melodic, talented bands in the area, very few bands cater to the fan of jam based, improvisational rock, blues, jazz, psychedelia.
Each member of The Dead Flowers has had extensive training and background in a variety of musical genre. With experience in blues rock, folk rock and Americana to baroque, classical and jazz these musicians each offer a bit of spice to create textures sometimes undiscovered in previous music endeavors. It doesn't hurt, either, that each is a fan of jam music of all kinds! As they explore new ideas and sounds, they continue to add new players and ideas.
The members of The Dead Flowers have a diverse background of performance experience. Some have opened for such notable bands as Nazareth, Pat Travers and Kansas. Some have performed in award-winning groups such as Tooba Bluez.
Together, The Dead Flowers bring a wealth of musical knowledge and accomplishment, resulting in a unique combination of style and influence. Please see their "gallery" for more information.
The Dead Flowers are currently working on new and original material for their fans, but they also offer their own renditions of some old (and new) favorites. Their list of influences is widespread (panic), but they tend to (phish) around for new mentors, as well. They are grateful (dead) for the talent that God has given them to share their music and they are always looking for (moe) opportunities to expand their catalog. So if they are (dylan) out some new stuff you've never heard, kick back and enjoy it with them. You might find that you're having a blast wilting away with The Dead Flowers.
