In June 2000, the four members of the Vancouver, WA band Novakain asked two local guitarists to join their group. Playing a style of Thrash/Nu-Metal, they soon hit the venues of the Portland/Vancouver area. Receiving reviews stating “This is the band that you want at your next kegger,” as well as drunken hecklers and light shows provided by the local police department, the band was on its way to providing much needed metal to their community. But in February 2001, the members disbanded due to ‘creative differences’.
Having gone their separate ways, the five members who made the core of the band remained friends and in contact with each other. Each developing their own styles and ideas to further the music, it was once again possible to achieve together the creativity that had been lost. In late 2003 the band was resurrected. Now playing more violent material, the band seeks to destroy the radio-friendly garbage that has controlled the airwaves for too long. With intricate song structures, crushing guitar riffs, mind-altering harmonies and plenty of violent brutality, it’s only a matter of time until the mainstream plots a lynching. 2004 marks a new era for the metal genre for again will be unleashed, GODLESS.Have you performed in front of an audience? We love playing live. We have done it all over Portland/Vancouver. Our favorite places are the Roseland Grill, the Mt. Tabor, and the Satyricon before it closed and became the Icon. The best times at a show are when the cops or the fire department comes out. It makes for a great light show.
