Well Paulo, It would be quite silly triyng to compare electric violin to electric guitar...It is not a simplistic question of wood or pick-ups...They are two different instruments altogether, although they share a lot of similarities. Hence the end results will be different. Note that while I used the same amp/mic set-up for both takes, I didn't use the same setting on the ADA pre-amp. I have to tweak it quite a lot in order to make the high end bearable on the violin. Violinscan easily sound thin, shrilly, brittle if you don't watch it. I guessed you were referring to the Circles bass drum being too loud at the beginning...I guess I'm just too damn lazy to remix it, so it will stay that way!

The loud bass drumm i was refering to in my first post was only the one in the Satriani song Circles ...

On adajam # 2 Since its basicaly the same contraption ,an ADA warm and Hot lamp driven sound; The sound, color and tone of the pickup on the home made 6 strigner violin in the second part leaves the sound of the guitar pick up in a cloud of dust! Amazing since the first one is a piezzo.... Makes me wonder.... Is it the bow? Is it the type of wood in the violin? Is it the pick up of that guitar thats too thin ? Whats the wood and pick up in this guitar (self made also?)
