"The Robert Herndon Project (RHP) is a Hardcore Blues Band born out of a never ending struggle for self-expression. A former studio musician in Southern California durng the halcyon days of hard rock in the 1980s, RHP was formed in 2010 by Robert Herndon after 20 years of absence from the music scene. During a recent interview with a Dutch radio program, Herndon said, "When I heard Albert King for the first time back in 1975, I was blown away by the level of emotion that he packed into his music. I was bullied as a kid and was never really able to express myself. The blues gave me an outlet for the pain and frustration I felt during my childhood. It encouraged me to pursue the blues and I've been playing ever since."
RHP was formed in 2010 by Robert Herndon after 20 years of absence from the music scene. Robert lived in Los Angeles during the 1980s and has done soundtracks for video documentaries, TV / radio commercials and private studio recordings.
We are currently in the studio and planning a European tour for the spring of 2011.
Some of my early influences were Blind Lemon Jefferson and Robert Johnson. I was blown away by Albert King the first time I heard "Born Under A Bad Sign" on an 8-Track Tape in 1970, and he was probably my greatest influence musically. Gary Moore was another huge influence on me as a guitarist.
My first guitar was a Sears Silvertone #1450 (by Danelectro) and I bought a new Fender Stratocaster in 1985. In 2003, I switched to a custom made Schecter C-1 and that is now my #1 guitar. I use Marshall Amplifiers exclusively and don't beleive in effect pedals. I do use Boss Noise Suppressors, Korg Pitchblack Stage Tuners, Gibson Firebird Bass Guitars, Pearl Drums, Ernie Ball Strings, EMG pickups and Shure Microphones.
We would like to say a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to our European fans and European radio. You have been wonderful to us and we will see you ALL later this year!!!!!
