My name is John McFadyen and I write songs under the name of The Sacred Cowboys. We are country music songwriters based in Newcastle Australia. We mainly write country rock songs but do write other styles of music as well.
We offer our services to anyone who is looking to record good country songs, whether it be for album release, to perform live or for movie or TV.
I spent some years touring in the USA and Canada and I was pretty much surrounded by country music for a long time, so I've taken bits of Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn and sort of moulded my style around theirs.Band/artist history
I took up the guitar more than 27 years ago after listening to too many Status Quo and Deep Purple albums at High school and since have spent the last 20 years in bands and 12 years as a professional
I spent about 6 years touring the planet playing in many 5 star resorts in Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and New Guinea to the Casinos and country bumpkin bars in the back blocks of Canada and the USA.
I've played everywhere from Lochinvar to Las Vegas and most everywhere in between, playing the prestigious Calgary Stampede and many festivals, county fairs and casinos across the USA and Canada, including Las Vegas and Lake TahoeHave you performed in front of an audience?Yep play live all the time, and all over the world
