Bamboo Music on handmade bamboo flutes. The music is for video, advertising, film, television, radio, ETC
CHI was founded in 1984 by Hanyo van Oosterom (aka The Flying Dutchman). The final recordings have been recorded live on a 4-track taperecorder in a farm in Moordrecht, the Netherlands and was performed live in 1985-1986. “Kuhl II” was recorded live at the Paradiso in Amsterdam.
CHI was one of the first European groups that performed ambient music on stage. The premiere of their audio-visual show was in 1986 at The Lantaren/Venster in Rotterdam. The music was influenced by the work of people like Brian Eno, , Holger Czukay and Jon Hassel (who wrote about CHI: it is so nice to see beautiful things grow from seeds planted).
The Amsterdam based label “Staalplaat” released the recordings on CD as “The Original Recordings”on their Container sublabel in 1996. The CD was very well received by the international music press
