We are a Central ny based band with all students from highschool.Band/artist history
Well this is basically how we became a band. Why we became a band and why we decided to play the type of music that we do. I'll try to do as best I can with this and get all the information as correct as possible...
If I remember correctly Nate Lunderman got his first guitar on Christmas of 2001. His dad bought it for him and also got him listening to what we call "old-school punk" such as the ramones, the clash, and the sex pistols. As well as these bands, Nate had been listening to radio friendly punk rock such as greenday and blink 182. Nate first got the idea of being in a band when a friend down the street started learning bass. They hooked up with a drummer and started the bands The Salty Waffles and Akademics. Over the year I was introduced to Nate and we became good friends by the spring of 2002. By that time I had been also listening to bands such as greenday and blink 182 as well as more politically based bands such as Nofx and Anti-flag. I never really became interested in the origin of punk until I began talking more with Nate. By then both of Nates previous bands had broken up (this is where I come in) and he was looking for new band mates....
Me and Nate decide we want to start a band and I decide to learn guitar as well. That summer I receive my first guitar for my birthday and with the help of Nate I learn the basics and start writing some simple songs. Meanwhile....
That summer Jamie Talucci and Nate Cushing are in the car with Nates older brother Mac and Mac puts on some music. Prior to this Jamie has never really listened to music. Jamie goes crazy, curious to know who this band is he asks and receives the answer Minor Threat. (Later he finds out Minor Threat is one of the most influential punk bands ever, coining the term straight-edge to the lifestyle all about resisting drugs, alcohol, and promiscuous sex.) Because of this he becomes so interested in music that he decides to learn bass.
Nate had been Playing drums since he was in third grade and had always loved this type of music. Now that he had a bass player he only needed guitars to make a complete band. A school talent show sparked an idea and Nate Cushing asked me to play with him, Jamie, and his brother (at vocals) there. Nate Lunderman would be out of town that day so we performed without him. A few months later we kept the same line up playing covers as "The Dandy Lions" at a second talent show.
That summer Mac went away to college and I wanted to get serious and start a band. Me and Nate Lunderman had already written many songs and recorded a demo cd with a drum machine and the former bassist of the salty waffles. I talked to Nate Cushing and Jamie about my idea of starting a "real" band and our first practice was that fall with me and Nate on guitar, Jamie on bass, and Nate C. on drums. We came up with the name The Unrated and here we are...Have you performed in front of an audience? We play live all the time. We really enjoy playin at the Wescott because its a really convinient location.

Anyways, great music and f*** you Ryan.
I want your babies!!!
man, you guys don't deserve to have fans. I like the Descendents and the Clash, and punk in general, but you guys have to make people want to hear you. The whole point of Lyrics/Story is to say how the song sounds and what the lyrics are. don't take it personal, I'm just giving you guys a headsup.
awesome
