Jaded by apathy, tomorrow is forever is a band that will not accept failure. approaching all aspects from all angles, brian, elliott, steven and bc are determined to make a difference in music, and media, and those who react to it.
the music made by tif is described simply as rock, or indie rock. the songs follow a common theme, and are often dynamic, at times pleasing to the ear, and at times taking the dissonant threshold so far before resolving. odd timing, and mixed meter rhythms are contrasted with catchy hooks and sing-along choruses, as well as synth parts and samples, which find their way in and out of the guitar work and vocals, which are sung by all four members.
immediately after leaving his former band, league, elliott began writing songs with brian in his apartment in the small town of fredonia, ny. while in school both of them joined with steven and initially evan mangiamele to begin rehearsing a couple songs, after a brief lineup change, bc replaced evan on the drums, and the band has been motivated since.
after writing four songs, they headed into the studio to record with jeremy rose, completely unsuccessfully. the inability to perform well with a metronome left the band feeling rusty and out of practice. in the winter of 2003-2004, they rehearsed at home individually and came back strong and started their demo over, from scratch.
since their first show in february, 2004, the band has quickly won fans over in the areas of binghamton, buffalo, afton, canandaigua, syracuse, and fredonia ny; columbus oh; as well as erie and edinboro pa, and played with such bands as: bayside, madcap, the aka's, the matches, salt the earth, fire when ready, owen, spitalfield, the reunion show, long since forgotten, saxon shore, poulain, and moments in grace.
recognizing the need to believe in, and help themselves, the band has contributed to the local music scene by booking touring bands at bj's bar, and at the local university, and doing everything, themselves. they demoed their own recordings, designed their own merch, coded this website, book their own shows, and tour, and even shot, directed and edited their own music video. DIY by definition of the term.
despite all the work put into all the other aspects associated with being in a band, music remains the focus of what tomorrow is forever is about. inspired by the energy of bands such as hotrod circuit, piebald, craig's brother, and marathon; the orchestration of the smashing pumpkins, cursive, nobuo uematsu, and counterfit; the soundscapes of mogwai, kraftwerk, saxon shore, and aphex twin; the technicality of botch, tabula rasa, and slayer; and the songwriting of nada surf, pedro the lion, onelinedrawing, and nick drake, tif remains with open ears and open minds.
during the summer months of 2004, they are practicing daily, storyboarding videos, booking the tour, promoting both online, and driving to other events to pass out promotional discs, sleeping ocasionally, and working on new material to take with them on tour for three weeks in august just after heading to the studio to record a full length record and shoot series of videos to accompany the entire disc.
