Band/artist history
began as a creative endeavour between former USC design students Steve Klipowicz and Mike Sakoon. With experience in bands from Charlotte, NC, the two were roommates while at school. Armed with a computer-based home studio, the two intended to create an E.P. to combine their musical tastes into a familiar yet uncommon sound. Recording between classes and their day jobs through their hard work and over a year of song writing a full album came to completion in the winter of 2003.
As the recordings reached completion, recruited Klipowicz's former bandmate Chris Blaisure (bass) and Chris Powell (drums), a member of Columbia's American Ninja.Have you performed in front of an audience? The band has been playing live shows since March of 2004. Currently booking shows in the Carolinas, Kings of Mexico hope to tour through the east coast by the end of the year.
"The live show forces you to change a lot, but it also gives the opportunity to put more energy into parts of our songs." With a live set including two guitars, bass, drums, a synth, and vocals - the band has adjusted their perfomance style to move rock audiences.
