Alternative Hip Hop

ADAM’S OFF OX style is the anti-style. Blending elements of punk, soul, funk, hip-hop, dub, roots reggae, R&B, and speed-polka (among others) they transport the listener on an o-ring busting journey through a black hole of raw styles. This clever band of chameleons creates uncompromising, fiercely original, mad-tasty cuts of musical sirloin that know no bounds. THE AOO CREW (as they are sometimes called) consists of six musicians from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds who have played in more than a few bands on the local and national scenes (they feature members of A Reasonable Place to Park, B-Side Logic, Guru Justice, and 8000 Pound Prairie Dog). Apex is the MC/Vocal Ninja of many styles, The Scott Free beats on the goatskins with unbridled fury, Oz handles the bad bassitude, Mel rocks the vocals and fiendish hand percussion, Mr. The Whitenoise uses six strings to split atoms for funk fission, and Nic Demus tickles the LFO’s. ADAM’S OFF OX plays rather frequently around the city and internationally, touring bars, churches, colleges, weddings, correctional institutions, strip clubs, and other dens of iniquity. They are currently finishing up work on their as yet untitled debut album, due out this summer on Maplehood Rekkids. Cuts from this can be heard on their official website, www.adamsoffox.com and at their mini-site on www.stlpunk.com. Stay tuned for more info, comin’ atcha’ out the side hatch.
Band/artist history
We said, "Let's Rock." And it was so.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah we play live, that's our favorite thing to do. Cold kickin it, before a live studio audience. We always have special moments, gotta catch it live!
Your musical influences
Morris Day And The Time meet Fugazi In A Dark Alley.
What equipment do you use?
Ok, we're really cyborgs. All the music comes from complex midi programs running in our processers.
Anything else?
We Are ?-Core!
