We're from Coventry in the UK, and we play a mix of metal, rock, hardcore, emo, jazz and pretty much anything else we fancy.
Band/artist history
Here's our current bio... Formed in Coventry in the Spring of 2002, evenflowerskill consists of four beings brought together by the mutual desire to get rich and famous. The first incarnation of EFK pulled together Andy (guitars), Christoph (drums), Andy (Bass) and Dan (vocals) from their respective student / burger flipping lifestyles, and united them through a love of metal, rock, emo and hardcore. This line-up lasted for just over a year, through many local gigs including shows with the likes of luminaries such as Johnny Truant, Defenestration, Mistress, My Awesome Compilation, Five Knuckle and the unfeasably good Beecher. In this period the band birthed an EP - "Loose Slots and Friendly Service" recorded with Malcolm Gayner at The Orange and Blue Room in Catford. ("a stroke of genius" - Rhythm and Booze) This chapter in the bands history was brought to an end in July 2003 when the band parted ways with vocalist Dan Thut. After a short period of aimlessness and instrumental shows the remaining members of EFK recruited local legend Matt Chinn (ex-Sifter) for throat duties. There followed a period of adjustment wherein Matt settled in and did all the things that vocalists do - ie get all the girls and occasionally write some lyrics. The now fully complemented evenflowerskill continued to play local shows to acclaim including gigs with The Blueprint, Sone, Aconite Thrill, Appease and several charity benefits for Paul McDermott (local Cancer victim). Evenflowerskill returned to The Orange and Blue Room over several sessions through autumn and winter of 2003 to record their sophmore effort - the ironically (?) titled "Such Dexterity Can Only Come With Time". Initially slated to contain five tracks, the band were given the opportunity to record again whilst Matt finalised lyrics for the first session, bolstering the running time to that of a full length record. A suprisingly diverse CD, "Such Dexterity..." is currently set to include the eastern hardcore of "Balloon", the dub-rock of "Post Crash Cigarette", the jazz-hardcore hybrid "Keane Aer Lingus", "Moon on a Stick"'s drum 'n' bass/metal mix and the undeniably funky feel of "Some Animals can Strut", amongst others. EFK intend to let their baby fly the nest sometime in March 2004. EFK are alternately holed up in various concrete rooms around Coventry working on new material or strutting their stuff on stages in Coventry, London and beyond. The band are open to offers of multi million pound record deals. Obviously.
