Song: Pogo Party
Hey guys - when the f*** are you going to put up a digital copy of the studio version of pogo party? I have the f*** ing live sh** , but I used to have the better CD version where I could actually kind of understand what Mike was screaming. Unfortunately, my ex walked away with that. And now I live in Germany and don't see myself coming back to B-town anytime soon. So pony up, motherf*** ers.

This weekend held the two best punk shows I've been to in Binghamton in several years. Lots of older punks, lots of circle pits and pogo dancing, singing along, spit flying everywhere, friends and good times abound. My teen years and spirit have been rekindled. I feel 10 years younger now. My body doesn't though. I'm very sore. Hopefully there will be more incredible shows like this past weekend in the near future. It's time for a real punk rock revival!!!!!!!!!

For me it was all one big trip to the old days. From their earliest days to the end. From the beginning of Cheers on Main St to it's end on Clinton St. I saw half of Indicision/Fink Squad. Spooty and Maria up from Jersey. A-Bomb. Yeah there was a lot of old schoolers there. A lot of people I haven't seen in years. I still remember seeing Abalienation when Mark quit and moved to Canada. Not the same. This was more like what I remember. Perhaps it will happen again soon. I miss the music. The pop thing is good for those who like it but, well, I guess I'm too old. BUt it was still great to see Abalienation grace the stage in Binghamto once again.

f***en amazing sh***: A bomb, The Dickinson brothers, all the old punks who we dont see at shows any more, the pit, singing into the mic with abalienation, the spitting, and Phrank being f***ed around with on stage by Mike.
This Sunday brought some f***en joy into my life. We need more shows like this.

What can erally be said about the late great Abalienation that hasn't allready been said. Everyone in this scene today has in one way or another been affected by this band. Those of us who are older remember seeing them play and buying their tapes and 7 inches, and the younger kids coming up right now hear the stories of "back in the day" when Binghamton was cool.
I first encountered Abalienation when I was 13 years old. Mike was working at a local record shop on Main St called That CD and Tape Place. I would walk to that shop every weekend with my $5 allowance to buy a new 7 inch for my hand me down record player. Mike consistantly pointed me to amazing music, introduced me to Fugazi, Negativland, MDC, and the Phillipine Violators...
After frequenting the shop for about a year a noticed this section of cassettes that had never caught my eye before, the local section. I went through the section over and over looking for something good when Mike suggested I buy something by his band

I've never saw Abalienation, but seeing that they made an impact on so many of you guys is really an awesome thing. In feel bad because i missed them and hopefully they will play a reunion show in the future for a two hour set. It would be nice to see even more people come together for great punk rock

The first punk show I ever went to was the opening show for the Freedom Warehouse and it was Bloodshed, 607, Smak and Abalienation. Their set changed my life forever and from that night on I decided to be "punk til I die." 10 years later and I'm still rocking so I think it's going to stick, despite what my parents think. Mike used to pick out good sh*** to listen to when he used to work at That CD and Tape Place. I would just ask what is good and he was never wrong. I learned everything about punk and playing in bands from them. I never missed a local show. I loved the band so much that I once went to see them with a fever of 103. Yes I was HOT BLOODED! I danced all night and sweated out the cold. Their music meant so much that there was no way in hell I was going to miss it. Abalienation and everything they turned me onto is "the" single thing that got me through high school. The only thing I can say I didn't learn from them was drinking. It wasn't easy being the ONLY straight edge ki
