mechanics of terror mechanics of terror
this was the first song i completed for terror mechanism. i was surprised the main sequencing only took three days. damn i am good.
behold the sun behold the sun
this one seemed to be a crowd pleaser. a quieter piece, with many game sound track elements with touches of atmosphere.
steel and circuits steel and circuits
steel and circuits was written to please. with that in mind, please enjoy. if not, my synth arsenal and i will be forced to kill you and destroy all you love. thank you.
i tried to infuse my music with emotive qualities. i wanted the music to come across as a blend of classical and soundtrack/film score with touches of video game music and some modern electronic/industrial/dance. every so often i sneak in a bit of tribal and arabesque sounds. basically anything and everything, so long as it does not repeat too much. i want to make music and going to see a show an enjoyable and entertaining experience again. more than anything, i want to push the boundary of what is expected from electronic music and blur the divisions that have grown between genres.Band/artist history
terror mechanism has only been me from day one. there were a few people interested in started a band around the time i started this one, but they never did anything. ever. that must have been about 3 or 4 years ago now. since then, i have release two ablums and played a handful of live shows. besides that, it's a lot of studio work, designing sounds, props, trying to get costume work done, writing new lyrics, recording and mixing everything. then some people wonder why i don't have more songs ready yet. HA!Have you performed in front of an audience?i have played live, though as of now i am taking some down time to get the third album all sequences, mixed down and set for the show. the last time we played was at club x-cel, here in lansing. i have to say this club is the cleanest club ever! the people who run it are great, the drinks are awesome and the sound system actually doesn't suck! and as for special moments...hehehe, just ask for a copy of the "end of revolutions" cd. a laugh riot.
Your musical influences
i tried to bring a range of musical influences to this, from j.s. bach to stravisky, from depeche mode to nine inch nails, from films score (like dune) to video game soundtracks (like symphony of the night). i am an avid lovecraft fan and try to evoke some of the expectant and oppressive atmospheres of his work to my music. What equipment do you use?
i worship the roland jx-305! life wouldn't be the same without my electrix warp factory either. other toys in the studio: waldorf micro-q, small...but powerful, nord lead 2, digtiteck vocal 300, boss 1180cd. then we get into the circuit bent toys...mmm...Anything else?
the label i am signed to now, transmissions from arcadia, will soon unleash upon the world the joy and sorrow that exists in the form of 'age of innocence', with their dance floor crushing cover of "i just died in your arms tonight". expect something fresh and different from these guys!Contact
