Heavy Metal

BLUNDERBUSS is a big, dirty noise, laced with immense riffs, catchy melodies and a Northern sense of humour. The 4 quarters of BLUNDERBUSS aim to entertain ROCK audiences of all ages in ROCK venues of all sizes with their traditional but very "now" sound. SASQUATCH BOB, a bass player from a background of biker club debauchery and honest heavy metal was to cross paths with MARK YATES, who after 15 years on the road with TERRORVISION, seemed unable to stop rocking. The pair started jamming and invited DANNY "BOON" LAMBERT to join forces and sing for them. Being no stranger to the live cicuit, Danny seized the opportunity to let rip with his "true grit" style of vocals. After playing drums for bands like LEAFEATER and SLAM, ANDY PEACOCK brought the capability to take BLUNDERBUSS to new heights. About to embark on a summer packed with live shows, the BLUNDERBUSS machine has opened it's throttle!!!
Band/artist history
BLUNDERBUSS (A tale to warm the heart of your cockles) Our tale begins on a heather covered hill in the Highlands of Yorkshire under a full moon. Mark and Bob were out Haggis hunting, armed only with a Swiss army knife, a medieval firearm and an assortment of sharpened Tupperware products. The hunt had been mostly fruitless, with not so much as a sniff of the wee Haggis folk until a quick flash of movement caught the attention of the eagle-eyed guitarist. Carefully, our two intrepid hunters crept through the undergrowth, nearing their prey. In a well-rehearsed pincer movement, they struck, wielding their Tupperware with deadly accuracy. Victorious, they dragged their helpless captive out of the deep heather into the silvery light of the moon. Shock followed by bewilderment followed as they realised that this was no Haggis they had caught but a wandering minstrel with tattoos and blue hair. The traveller let out an ear piercing scream of rage causing a barely noticeable but substantial shift in the tectonic plates. Our hunters looked at each other, amazed. A plan was needed quick, and, as any educated person knows, a good plan requires wine. Lots of wine. Lots and lots of wine. Several slightly blurred days later, a hunting party of two had become three and Mark, Bob and the blue-haired creature known as Boon were creating mirth and merriment wherever they travelled. Common interests abounded including their deep love of wine, scrabble, wine, bonsai trees, wine and music. There was an ancient legend around the highlands of Yorkshire which read When the bearer of the blue hair shall meet the men of rock and a fourth shall be found and he will be the beater of doom, a mighty sound shall be born. And the sound will level mountains, and lesser men shall weep rivers This legend was well known to our intrepid band and so they did quest to find the mythical beater of doom. This quest, naturally, involved wine. Lots of wine. Lots and lots of wine. And so, the mighty quest was undertaken. Many a peril was overcome, much wine was consumed and many a foe was vanquished. Neer did the three falter for they knew their destiny lay close at hand. Several slightly blurred years later, a distant thumping was heard. Intrigued, our party headed for the source of the sound. As they approached, the sound grew mightier until it shook the very foundations of the earth. High on a mountain plateau, they finally located the source. A monstrous creature, terrible to behold, stood before them cleaving huge bolders with mighty swings of an enormous club. They knew him instantly to be the fourth member, the beater of doom of legend. The music they created stirred the Gods from their slumber high in the hills of Yorkshire, and verily did the sound level mountains, and lesser men wept. The sound was given a name. A fitting name. The name of the medieval firearm which had started the whole tale. The name was BLUNDERBUSS! BLUNDERBUSSlocked, loaded and ready to blow you away! Vocals: Danny Boon Lambert Guitar: Mark Yates Bass: Sasquatch Bob Drums: Andy Peacock
