Kissinger is a Pop Juggernaut

[www.KissingerTheBand.com] -- We move into this election year with a decidedly optimistic generation of youth leading the charge. Wise beyond their years yet basically happy, todays teens are looking for a candidate with wit and flair. For pop music fans of any age, the one to consider is Kissinger. The platform? "One nation, undressed, with sexual liberty and just enough beer for all." Think Buzzcocks. The Cars. Urge Overkill, Archers of Loaf, The Figgs, or vintage Rod Stewart. Kissinger stands ready to serve with a slightly subversive and, dare I say, intelligent take on universal pop themes. Meeting that girl. Making your play. Seeing her dig you and imagining yourself kissing her. Kissinger proves that in this emo-core, indie pop world we live in that it is still possible to write songs about girls by boys that dont feel sorry for themselves when they swing and miss. Instead, they put on their best shirt, go out on the town and try again. -- [www.KissingerTheBand.com]
Band/artist history
Who is Kissinger? IMAGINE a skinny, six-foot-five front man straddling the stage like a praying mantis, bashing out post-Cars guitar lines, then towering over the microphone to belt out pop driven, baritone melodies that snag. Imagine a drummer snatched from Hollywood, and a European punk bassist entrancing you with one catchy chorus after another. You're close to seeing Kissinger. Fronted by guitarist, Chopqper, who left a current major label pop band to lead a different musical path, Kissinger supplies an attractive, subtle voltage that leaves audiences breathless. What have they recorded? After a year of wooing live audiences with an arsenal of magical, indie-pop melodies; sensuous guitar riffs; and driving rock rhythms, Kissinger took a day in the studio with producer John Croslin (Guided By Voices, Spoon, Damnations TX), to recorded the band's first 7" single Consider Bridgette. What's Next? Shortly after the single's release in April '99, Kissinger signed with Croslin's label to record a full length record, slated for release in early 2000. A steady diet of touring and recording await Kissinger, as they work intently to enact their carefully wrought plan for world domination. Taking time off only for an occasional cocktail, the band is committed to spreading the word about the state of the pop nation. You're close to seeing Kissinger.

We don't play live, we destroy. Special moments include splitting gold pants, matching space suits, and women hurling undergarmets at the stage.
