Hailing from Denver, Co, UNDUN is a 4 piece modern rock band with a dark, brooding sound in the vein of Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, and Five Finger Death Punch. The members of UNDUN each bring to the band a varying degree of background to form a sound that is unique in it's own right, surpassing the cookie-cut rock of yesterday, and defining the sound of tomorrow.Band/artist history
UNDUN was formed in 2001 by Beef (Chris Schmidt), Oshua (Josh Haas) and Pappy (Chris Stevenson) and the search for the pulse of the band commenced. Later that year they brought in Chewy (Chris ???) and began a run of concerts that would see them playing over 100 shows in a years time in the Denver area. They quickly earned a reputation of one of the hardest working bands in Denver Metal and received a Colorado Underground Up and Coming Band award in 2003. They released their first EP, Caged in 2003 with their 3 most popular songs at the time; Caged, Casus, and Julie. Shortly after finishing their EP they parted ways with Chewy and Munkii (Scott Vanderbroek) joined as the new pulse for the band. With a new drummer the band changed up their style adding interesting off-beats and creating a new melodic sound that was well ahead of the curve. The band recorded several more songs in preparation for a full album release, releasing the single "Insecurity" in 2005 and ramped up for a nationwide tour. In September of 2005 announced that they were breaking up and that their final show would be a benefit for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association at the historic Rock Island Nightclub in Denver, CO.
After a long 7-year haitus, in July 2013 UNDUN hit the internet with news that they were back and would be performing the headlining spot for the acclaimed Project Independent Tour at The Gothic Theater in Englewood, CO in front of thousands of online fans. Shortly before the reunion show the band parted ways with founding bassist Oshua and brought on a friend MKII (Mark ???) to play the show. The performance went off without a hitch and the band began auditions for a new permanent bassist. In April 2013 the band announced that they had brought on Dan Childs (nickname pending) as the new permanent bassist.
The band is currently booking a regional tour for Summer 2013 as well as preparing to record a new full length album (with re-recordings of the original UNDUN catalog), and 3 music videos.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play live anywhere, anytime. We live for performance....
