Versificators are a free band. The point of the band is to be in direct contrast to the music industry as a business. We are proof tha a band can survive without all the capitalist bullshit that the music industry foists upon musicians.Band/artist history
Versificators started playing out on November 1st, 2003. We have plans to "go electric" on November 1st, 2004. We have made 2 10 songs albums that are available on CD for free from us at our shows. Our first album, "Amanda Calls us the Versifucks -or- The Lightswitch in the Fleetwood Restroom is Upside-Down", is an example of the first 10 songs we wrote/learned. It was recorded using our acoustic instruments. Our second album, "Futurescapes -or- Moods" was released by popular demand in response to the feedback we heard about our Dec. 27th 2003 appearance at the Blind Pig where we programmed 10 of our original songs on a playstation using MTV's Music Generator and some stolen software. The performance was supposed to call attention to the absurdity of the music industries common practice of pre-recorded performances. I think the meaning may have been lost on the audience.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play on the streets of Ann Arbor, MI. We use acoustic instrument so we are not tied down by amps and electrical cords. It is far more gratifying to attract passersby that want to listen to your band then it is to trap people in a club that are only staying because they paid the cover charge and want their moneys worth. I believe that our crowning moment was performing to crowd of very excited friends in a bathroom.
Your musical influences
Our musical influences are rooted in Old School punk rock like Dead Kennedys or Circle Jerks. We endeavor to create a full rock band sound using only acoustic instruments. What equipment do you use?
We use acoustic instruments - Acoustic Guitar, Upright Bas and a Trap Kit struck with brushes (to keep the sound beow the other instruments.Anything else?
No, nothing else.
