Band/artist history
Well...It all began as a spark in three young boys' eyes in the 6th grade. A dream. A mission. Stuck in the hellish nightmare we call Naples, Florida... Don "D. Tizzle" Taylor, Nick "Nazi Muffin" Cioce, and I, James "fluffymonkey" Paradis, all conjoined to form the greatest band ever. That's right...EVER. But we failed. Horribly. By the eighth grade we had practiced maybe three times in the school band room with a killer set list composed of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Dammit," and of course.. "Crazy Train." This did not last long. We set the band idea aside for awhile due to conflicting interests and the fact that Don, our drummer, did not like peanut butter. I mean, come on...how did he expect us to deal with having someone in the band who didn't like peanut butter. Madness...just madness. Anyways, a year or so later, Don introduced us to a mysterious music art form he called "ska." What was this magical medicine of sweet goodness? It was just indescribable. After listening to this so-called "ska" music, we thought to ourselves... "Hey, maybe we should stop playing Ozzy Osborne covers, and maybe write our own music." Just two short years later on an unbearably humid late summer afternoon in August of 2002, a band was born having our first practice in Nick's garage. My god we were terrible. We played a mix of punk and screEMO music, and we sucked major monkey doo. Then, one afternoon in the garage I asked Brian, a kid with an IQ that makes Albert Einstein look like a two-bit crack head who sleeps under the highway overpass on exit 18, to come over with his saxophone and see what happens. Brian and I worked out the music to Less Than Jake's "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts," and the result was magical. We then mixed our sound with even more genres, joining together influences of punk, emo, hardcore, and ska into our songs. It was getting a little out of hand. We had to make a decision, and we chose wisely. We began writing our own songs and eventually we became the one, the only, the incredible, well not really, in fact not even close, but anyways, uh, I'm getting a little off track...errr...oh yea, the fabulous ska genius known as Murdock's Revenge. MuHaHaHaHaHaHaHAHAHA!!!!!
