The original incarnation of Harloff was formed by Joe and Kyle in 1995 under the name Colon Blow. What started as a 3 piece with then drummer Matt Kennycutt, later saw the addition of vocalist Jason Grider and a name change to Dr. Harloff. Shortly afterwards, Matt left the band to join the Marine Corps which opened the band up to an almost Spinal Tap-ish influx of multiple drummers.
1996 saw the addition of vocalist Ryan Noblitt into the fold. Around this same time, drummer Jon Lauman stepped in to help the band fulfill some live commitments and record their 1st demo. It was during the sessions for this demo that saw the exit of Grider from the band due to conflicting interests.
After the demo and a few live performances, Lauman left to pursue his own musical ventures. The revolving drummer wheel made a few more turns and stopped at Matt Beaumont who was with the band until it's untimely demise in late 1997. During that time a second demo was recorded as well as multiple live shows at various festivals and clubs throughout Indiana.
Fast forward to 2003, Kyle and Joe found themselves writing a bunch of new material and decided to possibly give it a go again. Unfortunately things didn't go as planed and demo versions of the material were recorded and archived.
Fast forward to 2011, Again we find Kyle and Joe scheming to bring their vision to the masses. Rejoining them in the new leg of their journey are long time friends and collaborators Ryan Noblitt and Jon Lauman.
Enjoy the ride!
