Open Heart Tragedy is a 3 piece experiment in hybrid Music. Blending synth and guitar, then topping it off with vocals from all three members. Most of this music was written completley separate from each other. As of right now, two of the members live in kalamazoo MI (yes, there really is a kalamazoo) and the third is living about 2 hours away. Each part (guitar, electronics, and vocals) where just individual brain children of a different member, then almost without effort, the parts become layered together. All three members are fresh out of two different pop punk bands, so this is a big change for everyone.Band/artist history
We've only been together for about 4 months now. It actually started as a one song production of the song Countless Days. But that was so much fun that we just kept on moving and are currently up to 9 songs fully recorded.Your musical influences
I think number one is the Postal Service. For those who don't know them. CHECK THEM OUT. The idea of mellow, emotion driven songs, while still keeping a light mood by using whimsical electronic tracks seems to evoke a whole new array of feelings. Also Death Cab for Cutie (same Singer as the Postal Service). And maybe just a little bit of Dashboard.What equipment do you use?
I use Reason 2.5 for all of the electronic stuff, I have fallen in love with that softwhere, you can do anything. Anyone interested should go download the demo. It takes years to master, but you can do stuff with it right out of the box. You'll play for hours with it. Everything else was run through a Behringer mixer and a MXL condencer MicContact
