Dont let heaven pass you by Dont let heaven pass you by
This was a demo before band was formed.
Soul Harvest (no affiliation with "Soul Harvst" band from Canada or the Tim La Haye Book by the samne name.) was a four piece Christian rock band that existed from 1994-1997 in the San Fernando Valley, Southern Calif. This page is a memorial to that band. Though the band is no longer, it is my feeling that a couple of definitive songs of the time should be reaching people even though the recordings are basicly collecting dust. I wrote them during a profound period of my life and would like them to be accessable to people who may still be touched by them.
Band/artist history
I had a couple of songs that I wanted to record. They were from a time when I transitioned to the Christian faith after divorce and other difficulties in my prior life. My friend Alan had a much better singing voice than myself and I asked him (Alan Fitch) and another friend (Vanessa Singer) to add vocals to my demo. The song was "Dont let heaven pass you by". That demo got passed around and Joel Singer (Drums) and Rob Bailey (Bass) joined. It evolved into a band. That sound can be heard on "Just another Day", a song that Alan Fitch and I wrote in his living room one evening.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We did. The best time was at the Roxy in early 1997.
Your musical influences
My influences were everything from Led Zeppelin to the 70's era Scorpions. The rest of the band shared similar influences. Alan was really into Van Morrison. Rob liked punk and had an amazing level of raw talant on bass. Joel was influenced by everything from John Bonham to Keith Green.
What a whacky fanatical bunch we were.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars and drums....
Anything else?
Though the band has not been together for years, hope you get something out of what we did all these years later. What was recorded was meant to outlive the band. May it bless you.
