Punk

Action isn't really punk. They're more like incredibly catchy pop-punk-emo, kind of in the vein of blink-182 crossed with All-American Rejects, but in a good way. With catchy guitar hooks, choruses that'll get stuck in your head and stay there for longer than you'd prefer, and the occasional well-placed scream, as well as a ridiculously energetic stage prescence, Action is a lot better than that AAR-blink comparison (or these terrible, pre-drummer demos) suggest.
Band/artist history
Action rose from the ashes of the most underground band in the history of indie rock, Army of Carolers. Tired of being known more for their logo and website than for their (nonexistent) music, Tony, Axel, and Grant of AOC called it quits in November 2003. That December, Grant and Axel decided to practice, just for fun, without the intention of creating anything memorable. But within two hours, they had taken a catchy guitar hooked and crafted a complete song. Subsequent practices were just as productive, and the band enlisted the help of Norm Weintraub to produce their first demo. With that recorded, they chose a name, Action, that describes both their infectious energy and forward thinking musical activity. Soon, the band found itself in need of a drummer. The services of none other than Tony, from AOC, were enlisted, giving Action the exact same lineup as Army of Carolers. But with a much more mature, pop-punk/emo sound than AOC, influenced as much by Taking Back Sunday as blink-182, and quite a bit more musical talent, Action is set to take over 2004.
