Biography
The Andy Browne Trio has been a part of the newly emerging Philadelphian Original Music scene for just over two years. ABT have played to receptive and enthusiastic crowds in Toronto, New York, Kentucky, Delaware and Pa. Displaying an energetic mix of their own post-modern atmospheric rock, live comparisons have been made to Radiohead,The Who, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, The Waterboys and Buster Keaton.
This four piece Trio has 2 releases from Shut Eye Records.The first in 2003 (Chemical Road) and the recent (14 Horses for Che) in 2005, both Cd's have received critical acclaim and college/alternative airplay. ABT continuely performs at music conferences/festivals,private functions and clubs thru-out the North East.
Andy's previous band,The Nightporters (Atl,Ga.) toured extensively on the East coast sharing stages with REM,The Replacements,Sonic Youth,Galaxy 500,The Clash,The Fleshtones,The Raybeats,Rupaul, Goo Goo Dolls, Jim Carroll and countless others,he has also had music produced by Peter Buck (REM) and Ed Roland (Collective Soul).
Jason Grosse (drums) and Jason Cragile (bass) own and run Echo Studios (rehearsal,recording) located in scenic Tullytown,Pa.
Kevin Donovan (guitar) stays home while not on the road going over Dave Gilmore nuances.
