Rap music used to be a political stage where the greats were able to express their frustrations with the world. In an age where rap has swung far from a political movement, I'm here to bring back the poetry in politics. I'm P.I.P short for Picture in Picture I have a wide variety of influences including Aesop Rock, Deca and Greydon Square. Underground. Let's widen the frame of rap and break stereotypes. We're poets after all -P.I.P
Band/artist history
Back in 2010 while I was still in high school I had a good friend ask me to write a rap for a project in his class. I had spent years before that writing lyrics on paper that I would often lose. After that I starting writing serious after the positive support. A mix between life becoming busy and losing my steam I stopped recording, but never stopped writing. After years of keeping this art in the dark I've decided to dust off the mic and express my true self. Rap is an art form, trying the learn the qi. I expect my EP Black and White to drop within the next few months, any and all questions feel free to message.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Though I have never performed live I have been in quite a few street battles (often after the bar).
Your musical influences
Aesop Rock remains my biggest influence not only does he package abstract ideas into palatable must, but he speaks an introspective view of the world. He is an artist first. The large vocabulary mixed with odd schemes have been such a refreshing palette cleanse . Deca has been such a big influence on me, his pseudo rap and use of sampling philosophy and high ideas leave an impression on my style. Greydon Square- I relate with Grey since we're both vets who are anti war with an interest in sociological issues and space exploration. Omniverse: Type 3 is 10/10
What equipment do you use?
Breadline set up. Mic with condenser and Audacity
