After having many bands in many different genres I decided to start my own solo project where I could write what i wanted and not have to worry about if someone else would like it or not. After writing and recording everything I have put a band together to play live and record a CD with.Band/artist history
Far From Words started out as a solo project of songwriter Alex Riggen. After writing enough songs for an entire album a band was formed to play shows and record with. After a few lineup changes Far From Words had found the right members and started practicing for shows and to record their first EP to be released on Alex's Mi Zai Records. Since then Far From Words has been playing various shows and will be going on tour this Summer to support their new EP "Be Nameless".Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes.

Our styles differ greatly, but I like your stuff.

Thanks for your comments on our two new recordings. I chose to use the distorted vocal to help create the atmosphere that I wanted for that particular song. I knew it would be distracting for some people, but it was a risk I was willing to take. I'm glad you liked Always though!
I had some problem with the distorted voice on the first one, it sounded too muffled and too easy to produce that way, the second one sounded much more professional, I do like distorted vocals, but it didn't seem to fit and I couldn't listen to it for long that way.
