EERIE-CORE ANTI-POP METAL! Borderline Death, borderline technical...lotsa grooves and twisty turns. Enjoy!
Band/artist history
THINKTANK was conceived in the early months of 2002,clawing its way through the many cover bands and karaoke bars to stand as an undiscovered asset to the rural Ohio metal scene. The band is known for their innovation and their lack of musical boundaries, choosing instead to push themselves to the limit of their playing ability, regardless of the social consequences. They are an extreme band for extreme times, playing their self-dubbed eerie-core anti-pop metal for fans hungry for originality, focusing their lyrical content towards subjects that the average human being feels on a daily basis: loss, frustration, and apathy towards what is considered correct or just.
Its creation coincided with a point in time during which there was little original local music. The fans needed an outlet, and THINKTANK gave it to them. Most shows played by this quintet eventually include a whirlwind of activity in front of the stage, where most if not all of the onlookers partake in a rather spirited frenzy of dancing, moshing, and head-bobbing. Such acts of communal aggression have led the band to win much acclaim in the Ohio area, most notably the Win at the first annual Battle of the Bands in Troy. The band has furthered the buzz by furious self-promotion. Although THINKTANK is backed by many local businesses in their area, it is the musicians themselves that constantly flyer, solidifying a reputation as a hard working band.
THINKTANK is currently booking for the fiscal 2004, and has already signed on to many large-scale shows. They are supporting the release of their first full-length CD, entitled Misconception, and are in the process of expanding their merchandise and web content.
