Band/artist history
My band name originated from a 1980 Atlanta based street gang...Google (Down by Law in Atlanta)...in 2003 it became the name of a rap group in which I was one half of the rap duo which featured SpittGame(me) & my bruh Swatt..in 2012 I formed the company Down By Law Inc.Have you performed in front of an audience?Around the 3rd grade I embraced instruments such as: Piano,Saxophone,Drums,Guitar....by the 7th grade I had mastered the sax and was a pretty good pianist...8th grade I was apart of a 11 man drum line at Avondale High School...In the 12th grade I arranged and performed a Live Musical concert which included a gospel choir for a Paid audience at Madison Heights High School in Indiana...I've loved and embraced the gangster rap culture of the 90's and incorporated it with my musical gifts and enjoy every moment of the music creation process...
Your musical influences
First of all though I can read music I play by ear. I believe this talent to be nothing but an annointment from God..I was influenced by gospel artist such as: John P Kee, Winans, Georgia/Missippi Mass Choirs, Fred Hammond, and others...My early hip hop influences where groups/artist such as: NWA, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Easy E, Tupac, Scarface, Lauryn Hill, C-bo, Outkast, MJG & Eightball, UGK....Now I enjoy music from Artist such as: Jay Z, Eminem, Dre 3000, T.I, Ludacris, and the New Nicki Minaj :-)What equipment do you use?
I basicly use a midi keyboard usb connected to Reasons5 program to make my tracks...I vocally record in Protools HDAnything else?
I do this for the music lovers thats close to giving up on hip hop. I agree a lot is watered down and has changed for the worse; however, don't give up. Hip Hop isn't dead it was buried alive and STILL LIVES UNDERGROUND
