Richard Hooker's Progressive Blues Band
Playing Blues, Progressive Rock Jazz and Techno since 1972.
Former band member in:
Hoot 'til Dawn, Landslide, EarthStar Ensemble, Roger Powell(BSEM), and Delux. Original compositions for Blamage, TV and studio sessionsBand/artist history
Classically trained for 6 years from 8-14 years old, Richard Hooker got started in bands while attending Harvard College during the early 70s.
Playing around Boston and Cambridge, the Oxford Ale house as warm-up band for John Payne Jazz band and at Jacks as a regular band (Delux); and "the Garage as warem-up band for Rod Stewart and Robin Trower bands. Also Richard was on the Faculty at the Boston School of Electronic Music where he met Roger Powell( former Utopia Keyboardist).
After graduating he moved to Upstate New Yrok to attend SUNY (Engineering Degree), and once again, started Hoot 'til Dawn and Landslide playing mostly covers such as the entire part 2 of "Remember the Future", by Nektar, Yes, ELP, Genesis, etc., during a time when those bands were pioneering New Wave and Progressive Rock/Jazz. During a 'live' debut on WOUR FM in the band Earth Star Ensemble with Craig Weust created the LP "Clouds"; later reproduced by Tagerine Dream.
Currently I am working with 2-3 bands and mostly my work with progressive originals working with a few Boston and NY/NJ area bands.Have you performed in front of an audience?Currently converting original compositions to MP3s and playing with

Hello there
I like "RH Progressive". I can certainly hear the ELP influence. I would have liked to hear you do Part 2 of "Remember the Future" - great track!
Best regards
