Acoustic Folk

Hey everyone. Thanks for checking us out. Right now, the recordings on here are demo versions. We hope to have our first cd "Before We Are Old" finished by early 2005. We think ya'll will like it, so be watching for more info on the cd.
Band/artist history
We started playing together over the summer of '03, mostly playing various covers and jamming every once in a while; and getting used to each other's playing/singing style. Then in the fall of '03 we started writing our own stuff, gradually getting better at it as we went along. Along the way, I [Max] got some recording experience and we recorded our demo, "The Goodnight EP" in the early spring of '04 using my little four-track recorder.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play where we can and when we have time. It's kind of stressful getting ready for playing live anywhere, mostly because we have to get our backing band ready, and there is limited time to practice with our busy schedules. Though in the end, it's worth it, because we have alot of fun with what we do.
Your musical influences
David: Well, I'm influenced by a lot of different artists, Beth Orton, Badly Drawn Boy, Radiohead, Coldplay, David Gray, Ryan Adams, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Great Big Sea, The Chieftains...the list goes on... Max: I come from a punk background, believe it or not; and that evolved into hard rock and a little bit of emo. But it wasn't until the fall of '03 that I developed a love for aocustic music. My influences include the likes of: Jars of Clay, John Mayer, Michael W. Smith; and on the harder side of the spectrum: Ace Troubleshooter, Anberlin, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Lifehouse, Our Lady Peace, Relient K, Something Corporate, Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, and so many others...
What equipment do you use?
David: I use a Remo Custom Series: Leon Mobley Djembe; and Pearl Session series drums with Zidljian cymbals Max: Guitars: Takamine EG-560CBS thin-line acoustic Old-Beat-Up Fender acoustic I also play Fender and Yamaha electric guitars Effects/Preamp: Boss GT-3 Boss CE-2 Strings: Martin 20/40 Bronze acoustics D'addario XL Medium electrics Recording: Fostex MR-8 Cakewalk Music Creator
Anything else?
Thanks to our live backup musicians: Drew on drums, Richard on bass, and Drew on lead guitar/mandolin, for helping us whenever we need them. They are some of the most talented musicians we've ever worked with.
