Country-Pop

Up until October 2003, I had not even played my songs for my family. I decided to answer the question "what would you do if you weren't afraid?" The answer was I would let people hear my songs and maybe even actually play them live for folks. I know I am not a great musician, singer or performer. I am trying to learn to be a better engineer. I do think I write a catchy funny or truthful song now and then. I originally thought this site had too many accomplished acts, but a friend convinced me to sign up, because essentially what does it matter?
Band/artist history
Played in my basement for over 25 years. Just decided to come up from the basement now! Now that is the kind of history they can write books about eh?
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have done a couple of songwriter nights, two song sets, that kind of thing. It terrifies me. So that is why I do it. Soon maybe it will not terrify me. I hope I will improve both live and when the red light is on in the studio.
Your musical influences
That is a tough question. I love everything from Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, the Beatles, BTO, The Romantics, The Hoodoo Gurus, John Mellencamp to Jason and the Scorchers. Were they an influence?I don't know. My music ranges from straight bass chord country similar to Johnny Cash to grungy rock with acoustic guitar based ballads in between. The artists listed in the "For fans of..." section are what others have told me, I personally do not hear it. Except maybe the guitar playing and Johnny Cash.
What equipment do you use?
I record on a Korg D1600 based system at home.
