Empty Home Empty Home
EMPTY HOME is the recording of a very personal search for the understanding of the truth behind the pain when a mother feels the full weight of an EMPTY HOME.
"Wren" is the first cd/demo produced of songwriter/singer Wren Owens' work. The musicians who played on the cd are not available to sign on as band members for playing out, so presently Wren is looking for interested musicians ready to take the music as far as possible, so get in touch with her ASAP if you're interested. She's based in western New York, just outside of Corning.Band/artist history
Please, visit www.wrenovation.com for all the info you'll probably need, to listen to some sample mp3s and to purchase the cd if you like!Have you performed in front of an audience? We have played live a few times, in the Rochester and Ithaca areas. I loved it...really, we had a ball and people really seemed to get into the music, which was cool to see, you know, to get that immediate, honest reaction from people when they hear the music for the first time is fun. Since the musicians I've been working with to get the album recorded have personal/family obligations, we're not formed as a "band" so I'm looking and talking to other musicians now, most specifically looking for people free to travel and those who are dedicated professinals, aware of what the business is, and isn't. I'd love to hear from you if your interested. I'm looking for a bass player, drummer, lead guitar and keyboard/utility player.
Your musical influences
I've got too many musical influences to possibly list them all here, but among them are: Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman, Lena Horne, the late Eva Cassidy, Madonna (some of her stuff), Jewel, Sting, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, King Cotton, Peggy Lee, Pearl Bailey, Mae West and Joan Osborne.Anything else?
I've been writing for years, but never shared my songs like this until now. I'm glad to have this first cd finished, though I know production wise some things could've been done better. Still, we made the most of our resources at the time. I'm hoping those with more experience in the industry will recognize the good and the potential in the songs and get ahold of me. I've got some other, unproduced songs ready to go already and am open to re-producing or mixing some of these first 12 on the "Wren" cd/demo. I'm also open to having other artists record and/or perform any of the songs.Contact
