Band/artist history
Of course, Chlorine and Binary of VORTEX have been involved in many creative projects in the past. Aside from her solo projects, Chlorine's distinct vocal participation can be heard on many records from Indaba to Sting to Ziggy Marley. Across the Atlantic, Binary followed his passion for the synergy of music and technology, which landed him many opportunities as a keyboarder and programmer and eventually led to several major label album productions of up- and coming artists.
Yet, only in the creative whirl of their own VORTEX, Chlorine and Binary finally found the artistic satisfaction they had been seeking. The mission: The creation of unique, stunning works of sound and song, not held back by the dated paradigms of a disposable and exchangeable music culture, but using the rare distills of bleeding edge technology as mood thrusters of unrivaled intensity. Tired of the sheer omnipresence of 'ad-music' and the inherent boredom with most current music, VORTEX set out to dig deep and create a continuing emotional journey captured in sound waves. Obviously, tagging this endeavor with a static style description will be hard, if not impossible. VORTEX does currently feel comfortable, however, in the greater realm known as trip hop.
