Born in Youngstown, Ohio. The youngest of four boys on his mother's side. Leon (5Fold) Bates started writing rhymes at the age of 12. Always having a sort of knack for words, he was automatically drawn to expressing himself on paper. Later on deciding to place those thoughts on beats he began rapping. Working with Ohio's best producer's and artist's ranging from "Sincere the Great", "Hood" and vocalist Sean Cason. Working with producer's "Dj Kid Magic", "Kieth2FlyLogan" and 6Side to beat production done by Columbus' Anthony "A-Watts" Watson to Tightanium. He has more than strectched his talent from being labeled as your typical cliche rap artist to turning heads with his wordplay and real-life lyrics. Determined to open the world's ears to his struggles and strains. He also brings to the table a colorful picture he paints often with his lyrics. Recieving more than kudos from artists in his city he's managed to place in the minds of his listener's and fan's that..."The odds are always even." Having the opportunity to do shows from Cleveland's club Peabody's to Columbus' High 5 and Skully's he's built his repertoire to be one of Ohio's forces to be reckoned with. Standing out from his competitive counterparts by the general passion and diligance interpreted by listener's in his rhymes. 5Fold definitely has what it takes to be in this game we all call "Hip-Hop."

Have you performed in front of an audience?
Ive played at alot of different spots from Youngstown to Cleveland and Columbus. From Peabody's to Duka's to The High 5. I love being on stage. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I remeber the first time i met the legendary Mix Master Ice. I did a show at the High 5 and he was in the crowd. Not knowing at the time who he was when he asked if i knew i told him no. Sort of a funny moment. Much love Mix Master ice.
