From Tectonomachine. One of my personal favorite Spica Regulus tracks.

Space Mountain Lemonade Space Mountain Lemonade
Track two from ENM. This is one of the better songs on ENM.

Oh, shit. I used to have a lame bio about "being a vessel of sound collages" or something subhumanly stupid like that. What's happened since then? I grew up. So now there's this advanced bio. Yeah, I'm still into surrealism and I'm still making noise, but now I hope I won't be a narcissistic dork about it. Anyway, enjoy the noise.
If a track name is followed by the word Shortened, it means that the songs are incomplete and are only 5:20 long. Soundclick will not allow me to upload the full versions.
If you would like to purchase a Spica Regulus album, simply email me for more information. Tectonomachine and all future releases are $4.00 for a CD-R or $3.00 for a tape, plus $2.00 shipping. I don't sell the first three albums anymore because, let's face facts, they were total shit.
Please specify the name of the album you wish to purchase in your email as well as your address. I will email you back to confirm your order and provide my address. Allow 4 weeks for delivery since I don't know how fast the post will be. Cash only, no checks! I don't ship outside the U.S., sorry. However, you could download all the Spica Regulus material from Minion (me) off of SoulSeek and save yourself the money. I'm in the noise room, sp go ahead and do that. I don't do this for the money and I'm fine with not making a cent from this band, EVER.
Yeah, well, you were wrong. I actually thought for the longest time that I'd never update this page again, but a few days ago I realized I had to. But enough about that, let's talk about releases!
Yes indeed. Those two EPs I was talking about doing? They're really going to happen. Not as EPs, but rather a full-length album (and possibly a simultaneously-released EP; I've got a bit of material lined up for this thing). I'm recording it now, and it's definitely the most varied, experimental SR release yet. It's going to contain actual noise too, not just sound collages! So watch for that in the future.
I'm updating the site, as you can see. I've changed the "For fans of..." section in the sidebar there, and added more to the "Influences" section further down the page. I'm also removing the material from Atomic Noisecore Destruction and Extreme Noise Magnitude because they both sucked. The space will be filled with QUALITY material soon enough.
Finally, I actually did play that show in November. It was only a fifteen-minute set, but it was a pretty damn nice one even if the raver kids thought it was "too noisy!" I couldn't get a recording of it and I don't have the track anymore, which sort of sucks. I may have my own recording device by the time the next live performance comes around, though.
I guess that's it! Check back later for more Spica Regulus news.

Yeah, I've still done almost no work on anything. And it will probably be a while before I do, because I'm in the process of learning about electronic music and its techniques. This will mean better music, but longer recording durations.
There is one piece of information I can reveal, though: I'll be playing live at a place in St. Augustine next weekend. In true Masami Akita fashion, the set will consist of one pre-constructed track played on a laptop connected to an amp and PA system. If I can get a decent recording device, I'll record the show from the soundboard. More information on this later.

Have you performed in front of an audience?
As far as live performances go, I perform VERY rarely, because there are very few places near me that will allow noise music. It's mostly just at friends' houses and the like. Because of my (ahem) limited equipment, performances are pre-constructed.
Your musical influences
I have my influences, all of them good noise bands. I don't want to say their names here, but if you've seen my shared list on Soulseek you know them already.
What equipment do you use?
Mostly a feedback loop consisting of a Digitech RP200 effects modeler and a Rogue distortion pedal. I'm trying to get more equipment, but things are tough when you're an unemployed high school noisician. I also use household objects, mostly metal material, and I mix, edit and decompose things with my recording program. Fruity Loops also comes into play occasionally as well.
