Band/artist history
Forging the Metal. by Jason Ourso..... What became of Knever did not come from just one source, it came from almost 2 different worlds which came together making a strange but tight/heavy style. Around 1996 the future Knever vocalist Jason Ourso, had helped form a band called No Sane Ways (formerly Decent). After playing shows around the Baton Rouge area for almost 2 years, Corey Tisdale (bass) left the band to go to school out of town. The band struggled for a while until Jason suggested bringing in Aaron Bordelon, a bass player and long time good friend. After almost a year with no progress, problems in the band resulted in both Aaron and Jason leaving No Sane Ways. Simultaneously to the story above, the future Knever guitar player, Rusty Laughlin, was trying to start a band of his own. One of Rusty's friends was a guys by the name of Jamie Copeland who was a large fan of metal. Jamie played guitar a little himself and jammed on on occasion with his cousin Jon Maher (drums). Jamie saw great talent in both so he decided to hook them up. Rusty and Jon soon recruited both Randall Stephens (bass) and Jacob Miller (vocals). The band called themselves Quarantine. Problems ranging from both attitude issues and musical differences became apparent between Jacob Miller and the band. It was time to find another singer who could fill the gap Miller had made. Months later Jason from No Sane Ways came to practice to jam. Things went well so Jason joined Quarantine in 1998. Almost a year and a half later bas sist Randall Stephens went through personal religious changes which put a distance between him and the band so he left and again Quarantine was without a bass player. Aaron Bordelon (no sane ways) had joined the marines but desperately hated it and wante d to come home. After a long time, Aarone was released on an honorable discharge. Jason had kept in touch with Aaron and asked him if when he came home would he be interested in playing music again. When he returned home he began jamming with Quarantine. Things were going well, so he joined the band. As a result, Quarantine changed their name to Knever. One reason they did so is, that bringing in 2 completely different musicians changed the band's sound drastically (for the better). After recording our CD Aaron Bordelon left to start his own project as the front man in an industrial metal band still in development. A few months after Aaron left Jason began working with a new bass player, Jeremy Pourcy, Jeremy has previously contributed to the band by video taping shows, helping put up fliers, creating and Co-designing the art for "Dead by Design" (CD), and lots of other helpful band stuff. Jeremy was a main influence on the bands new albulm "The Absolution" and contributed to every song on the album. Few months ago Knever decided it was time to add a second guitarist. Through a friend of the band, Cody DeRouen was suggested and was brought into the rehersal studio. After a month of learning the band's songs, Cody and the band mutally agreed of Knever adding a fifth member. Since then he has played shows and is now starting to contribute in the writing of the new album.
