i'm not a music expert, and others might have more influential input with regards to the melody and music, but i can tell that your lyrics come from the heart--which makes all the difference.

I came back to see if I could post a more clear message. Feel free to delete the previous mess I made...sorry about that.
Bottom line:
Your songs are good and well written, but in parts the piano and drums are competing with each other instead of blending, and your vocals are getting lost by this (which is a shame). I hope this makes better sense.

Sorry Jill, I got the songs mixed up.
The drums aren't the problem in "left alone". Just try separating the piano and vocal (it's crowding up in the chorus), and bring your vocals up.
I'm starting to bury myself now :)

Jill, Jill...Your breaking my heart!
I can hear allot of potential in your singing and playing, but nobody is mentioning that the drums are crowding your songs (actually Sharon Heiny did and she is right). The piano playing and singing at the start of "Left Alone" sounds professional, but it loses steam as the song goes on, because your vocals get buried. Try bringing them up (you have a very pleasant and pleasing voice, which I would die for) and maybe try dropping the drums or just have them quiet in the background.
I also like "Perception" and "I can't break thru". Great lyrics "everything feels far away" and your voice shows its true potential on the line "I need a break"...beautiful!!!
I hope that you don't take this the wrong way, because I really like your songs. You just need to put your piano playing and singing front and centre, and try not to rush thru them. You are just 19, so you are only going to get better.

Left Alone was a very good song. Lyrics were good to.
I will listen to more when I have more time. Im on my way to bed soon since is 4 am right now.

Just strolling around and I checked out your tune "When Monday Comes" This a great song with great potential with som work on the drum track and a tad more volume on the vocals. Very Uplifting Progression
