Band/artist history
Formed in the summer of 1990. Relaunched in the summer of 2010.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We will not play live before it's time. But we'd like to open the football stadium under construction in Denton, Texas.
Your musical influences
Weird Al Yankovic is a key one - he made silly OK. Spinal Tap, of course. Amy Grant and Van Halen. Talk about extremes! Dweezil Zappa gets a special mention for My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Momma.
What equipment do you use?
Fender Strat mostly, though a Les Paul was used for "Denton Town."
Anything else?
You might be interested in who sings what, who plays what on each track. So, here goes! - Poor Billy. Lead vocals by MC Mike and Slinkmaster MC4. Guitar and bass by Marathon Man. - Primary vocals by Slinkmaster MC4. Additional vocals, including barking dog, by MC Mike. Latino guitar by Marathon Man. Bass played by co-producer Andy Chiles (because Marathon Man couldn't quite master that part). - Listen up, girlie men! Lead vocals by MC Mike and The Blade. Countrified guitar and bass by Marathon Man. - So wrong on many levels. Slinkmaster MC4 on lead vocals, with an assist on the bridge by MC Mike (who also yells 'ouch!' in the final verse). Marathon Man on acoustic guitar and responsible for that really cool bass line. - Shared lead vocals by Slinkmaster MC4 and MC Mike. Funky guitar and bass, including a delicious solo, by Marathon Man. Fade-up inspired by Boston's "More Than a Feeling." - Marathon Man on guitar and bass, including the famous "kazoo" solo! MC Mike has lead vocals on this one. Background vocals by our pal, Tim Wardell. - MC Mike on lead vocals (sounding like he'd just returned from the Bahamas). Guitar and bass by Marathon Man, who plays a borrowed Gibson Les Paul here instead of his usual weapon of choice, the Fender Strat. Crazed massed vocals at the end by Slinkmaster MC4, Marathon Man, The Blade and Tim Wardell. - Marathon Man on guitar and bass. MC Mike again on the lead mike. Background vocals at the end by The Blade and Tim Wardell. - Marathon Man on guitar and bass. Slinkmaster MC4 on vocals. - Lead vocals by The Blade. Classic guitar riff, along with bass, by Marathon Man. - Emo lead vocals by MC Mike. Guitar and bass by Marathon Man. - The only track to feature all three lead singers - MC Mike, The Blade and Slinkmaster MC4. Bluesy guitar and bass by Marathon Man. The laugh that punctuates the track is probably by the drummer. Special thanks to the drummer who guested on the record and played on all tracks (including the swirl of percussion on "Borders"), Ralph Duke. Original album art: Hal Hilliard. Art for 2010 anniversary edition: The Blade. Fan Club President: Stanford Semones. Band Therapist: Roman Rodriguez. Written at Ramsgate Apartments, Denton, Texas. Recorded at hai tex studio, Dallas, Texas. Produced by The Blade. Co-Produced, Engineered & Mixed by Andy Chiles and Marathon Man.
