Experimental Sounds

John McCoys solo projects explores the more abstract side of sound. Taking random elements such as prerecorded Tape music and computer manipulation, John works with textures and soundscapes that interact with one another to create it's own space. The pieces are more concept than song-oriented, letting things flow from tangent to tangent more easily. John records for Soutrane Records in Milwaukee, with bands Castle Broadway and Field of Sound.
Band/artist history
John McCoy began experimenting with abstract sound with friend Brock Brown, who introduced him to his method of the T.V. Tape. It consisted of hooking up T.V.s, tape recorders, and loads of effects and recording and mixing the results. Since then John has kept exploring the aspects of intersecting sound.
